Railway Children


They weren’t railway children at the beginning. They lived with their parents in London. Roberta was the oldest and their family were calling her ‘Bobbie’. Peter was the boy and he wanted to be an engineer when he grew up. Phyllis was the youngest girl she was always trying to be good. Their mother was always playing with them. Their father never got angry. So the children were very happy.



It was Peter’s birthday and two men came with bad news. The children went up to their rooms. Next day mother got up early and she began to find a house. When the mother came to home “We should move out of the house” said. The children say nothing. They departed and arrived their new house. When they came to home the weather was dark. The house was darktoo. There was a supper box in the house. “I left some food for you” their host said to mother. So they looked for their supper. But the house was dark. So they lit a candle. And finally their mother found it. But the supper wasn’t supper ıt was breakfast. After they ate their supper they slept.



Next day the children went to railway station near home. They acquainted with Porter. They talked with him. Anymore they was meeting. The children saw heap of coal there. They were suprised. The children were wondering about their father but they couldn’t ask about father to mother. Because the mother was already sad. Their mother was always “We’re poor” saying.



One day the weather was very cold and the children decided to steal a few coal from heap of coal in the station. They went there and Peter began to gather the coals. While Peter was gathering Porter saw him and got angry. At the same time the girls was hiding. The children didn’t come about a few day because this event.



One day the children were on the station. They waved to train. And an old Gentlemen waved back. They acquainted with old Gentleman. They began to meet.



One day the children decided to apologize from Porter. So they went to the station. They apologized. Porter forgave them. When the children came back to home the mother was in the bed. Because she became ill. The children phoned the doctor and the doctor came. Doctor cure the mother and after the cure he wrote down on a paper. “You should take these” said doctor. “Milkvegetablefruit and so forth” But this was impossible. Because they were poor. So the children wrote a letter to the old gentleman. They wanted debt for their mother from old gentleman. The old gentleman sent a box to children’s home. There was eveything in the box. Two weeks later mother began to recover.



One day while the children was sitting on the railway suddenly they heard noise. They watched as the trees moved on and on grass and Stones moving with them. Then a big rock began to move as well. They was getting to prevent accident and Bobbie found a solution. They bound their petticoat to sticks. The sticks was like flags. Before the train didn’t come they went down the railway and they began to wave the flags. The train was coming faster instead of stopping. Peter and Phyllis ran away from there. But Bobbie was still waving them. Finally people in the train saw them. They stopped the train. After this event train authorities invited the children for thank. The train authorities gave one by one a gold watch.



Perk was a poor man. The children acquainted with him. They learned his birthday. And they wanted to suprise. They collected fooddrink from the neighborhood and brought to Perk’s home. At first Perk very got angry. Because they were poor and Perk never celebrate his birthday. But then he enjoyed.
One day “Where ıs the my father? Why did he go?” said Bobbie to her mother. Mother decided to tell everything. “You know your father is working at the Government office. One day policemen came father’s Office and they saw some letters on the table. They thought father is a spy he’d sold Government secrets to another country. Nowfather in a prison.But I know he will come out.” When Bobbie heard these she was very sad.



One day there was paper-chase. Students came there from some schools. Bobbie Peter and Phyllis came to watch them. There was boy in a red T-shirt in backmost. All racer through tunnel. However the boy in the red T-shirt didn’t through. So the children entered the train. The tunnel was very dark so Peter and Phyllis went to take a candle. While they were looking for Bobbie tried to awake the boy. And finally she awoke him and wound the boy’s injured leg. When Peter and Phyllis came back they fell asleep. They awoke them. Peter Phyllis and Bobbie carried him to their home. When the boy woke up he was in children’s home. He “My Grandfather is living in the neighborhood”. Mother phoned him and he came. The boy’s grandfather was old gentleman. They chatted together and then old gentleman went out. Boy stayed here until he recovered. After he recovered he went his home.



One day the children was in the railway station. A train came and their father got off from the train. Bobbie saw him at first. They went their new home together.
